We have some very nice reports for this time of year in Western Port and offshore, Starting in the port there are still plenty of whiting being caught and the fish are a perfect size ranging from 34-45 cm on average, We have taken some very nice bags of fish in recent trips, In the deep on tide changes you can still pick up a feed of pinkies with the odd gummy mixed in well worth a shot when the tide is slower.

The big news is Southern Blue Fin Tuna close to the Island these powerhouse fish are prize game fish with A+ eating quality, We had a very successful day chasing these SBTs Landing 8 fish to an impressive 47KG with Bigger fish seen on the day, If you want to have a chance of landing one of these SBT call and book now they will not be around forever as they move through the straits chasing Bait.

Report 2/1/2023

The New year has seen plenty of boats out and fish being taken in good numbers across the Port, The last couple of days aboard Newhaven Fishing Charters we have seen good numbers of whiting up to 46 cm, and Pinkies to 1KG taken from a number of locations around the Port, with the big tides keeping out of the weed meant fishing shallow water, this still produced fish for the happy customers on “Seafisher”. If your looking for Snapper and Pinkies there are a few fish being caught around Silverleaves and the flats of the Island at night, with Gummies as a extra bonus for those fishing the dark, as for the whiting its been hard to miss them with all the usual banks and sand holes producing fish the biggest challenges the shear amount of boats on the water, think outside the box and fish less hammered spots. alternatively let us find the fish for you and book a trip with Newhaven Fishing Charters
